Challenge Walks

A variation on our team bonding walks, challenge walks demand that little bit extra, and stretch individuals beyond their comfort zone.  They are normally undertaken in smaller groups than some of our other activities and will involve some of the finest hill and moorland walking that the Peak District has to offer!

The great outdoors has played a major part in personal development, team bonding, and team building.  At Walks 4 Business we believe the rewards and benefits for companies are as important now as they've ever been, which is why we introduced the 'Challenge Walks' programme.

The idea is simple!  Your team has to complete a walk specifically designed to be both challenging yet enjoyable.  The walks are non-competitive between team members, but encourage individuals to think about their own abilities and set themselves personal aims or targets for the day, as well as working together as a team to ensure that everyone finishes the walk.  Participants in challenge walks are encouraged and supported to not only achieve their goals but in many cases exceed their own expectations of themselves.  These are all skills and experiences that can be transferred back to the workplace, and can considerably boost self-confidence, motivation, and assist with personal development.

The walks are designed to be both physically and mentally challenging with additional activities such as navigation tests, observational challenges etc. built in.  They can be tailored to meet your company's objectives, and the participant's level of fitness.
 Our challenge walks package include:

  • Planning of a suitable route and challenges to meet your objectives.
  • Risk assessment of your route and activities
  • Pre-event advice on what group members need to bring (warm/waterproof clothing, walking shoes, boots etc)
  • The full services of an appropriate number of friendly knowledgeable guides on the day to ensure that your group get the most from the experience.  This can also include an element of learning about the Peak District countryside, wildlife, geology, local customs and history if required.
  • Advice and information on local hotels and restaurants if required.
  • Provision of packed lunches with freshly filled rolls from a local bakery or catering firm if required.
  • Review of the day's activities.
